If you have flat feet you are at greater risk for developing a condition called plantar fasciitis which is the most common type of heel pain. People with a flexible flatfoot (the technical name for this condition) have arches that pronate or fall inward when walking or engaging in other activities. This causes the arch to lengthen, thereby stretching the plantar fascia (the tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot) too much, causing small tears where your the plantar fascia inserts into your heel.
