Dr. Rion Berg

Dr. Berg has been practicing podiatry in Seattle for over 40 years. He is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He has hospital privileges at UW Medicine and was the Chief Podiatrist at their Wound Care Center for over 20 years.

 

Dr. Berg was raised in Staten Island, New York and followed in the footsteps of his father Dr. Bernard Berg who practiced podiatry in the basement of their house for 43 years. After attending the University of Michigan, he received his master's degree in physical therapy from Stanford University and his doctorate in podiatry from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. His post-doctoral training was with his father and at Straith Memorial Hospital in Southfield, Michigan.

 

While Dr. Berg thoroughly enjoys helping people of all ages get back to the activities they love, he has a particular gift for working with children. He takes great care to ensure kids have a great experience at our office. 

Community Service and Family

As Past President of the Rotary Club of Seattle NE, Dr. Berg led ongoing efforts rallying Dollars For Scholars, building a Rotary Interact Club for high school students, and feeding the needy at the holidays.  Dr. Berg spearheaded a "Shop Local" campaign for neighborhood businesses and with his fellow Rotarians past and present. He has worked with his club to sponsor the annual Lake City Pioneer Days Kids' Parade.

He and his wife Michele raised their three children in Seattle and have one granddaughter.

Hobbies

Dr. Berg and his wife Michele are often found working on their sailboat or sailing it in their free time. They both love to work in their garden and Michele plays the harp. They have two beloved, elderly pets, Gwen their Shetland Sheepdog and Annabelle, their calico cat. In the past year, Dr. Berg has also taken up watercolor painting which he finds very relaxing.
