Most heel pain is caused by a condition called plantar fasciitis. Sometimes this condition will go away by stopping the activity that is causing the pain (i.e. running) but most often you’ll need to find out the root of the pain so that the correct treatment can be applied.
Your foot type, degree of calf tightness, and shoes you wear can play a significant role in developing heel pain. Until you can make an appointment with a Seattle podiatrist such as Dr. Rion Berg there are steps you can take to reduce the inflammation that is causing the pain. See FAQ How can I reduce inflammation in my heel?").
