How do we do it?

Reducing Your Inflammation

Inflammation is a response to your heel injury. At the Foot and Ankle Center of Lake City we have many treatments in our arsenal to get your inflammation down and reduce your pain. Taping your foot and use of an air heel alter the way your foot strikes the ground and prevent re-injury of the plantar fascia. We use the latest in laser light technology to reduce your inflammation and pain. The MLS laser uses two wavelengths of infrared light to penetrate deep into the tissue to regenerate tissue at the cellular level.

Reducing Calf Tightness

You already know how to do the runners stretch, however, most people don't do it long enough. People with tight calf muscles are more susceptible to heel pain then those who don't. I recommend use of an Achilles splint which allows much longer stretching time.

Address your wonky foot mechanics - most feet aren't perfect-- yours probably aren't either. In order to resolve your heel pain and keep it from coming back you'll need to correct your foot mechanics. We accomplish this by casting you for custom orthotics.

Teach you about proper shoe gear - wearing supportive shoes are another essential part of resolving and preventing heel pain. Check out our video for how to do this.
