Mary's Place Kids Need Shoes Every Fall
Mary’s Place serves over 1,000 kids each day who are experiencing homelessness. These kids are constantly outgrowing their shoes and are in particular need in the fall when they typically go back to school. That's why the Foot and Ankle Center of Lake City holds a back-to-school shoe drive for Mary's Place in the Seattle metro area each year. This year will be our 5th year of holding this event.
In addition to asking our patients to donate we ask several local shoe stores to appeal to their customers for donations. As a result we typically receive over 300 pairs of shoes each year.
